Senator Obama Wants Health Care
The 47 Mil number might be subject to investigation. However, his position
on correcting the short-fall is of interest. One might ask why, if the
Senator is interested in reducing that number, his voting record does not
support his contention.
It appears that only if health care is provided by others' bucks, is it
acceptable.
On March 14, 2008, Vote No. 82 was held in the US Senate on S Con Res 70.
A successful outcome would have allowed a change to the Internal Revenue
code. The change would have allowed an above the line deduction for taxpayers
who buy their own coverage, outside of the workplace.
The measure failed, Yea - 45; Nay - 51; Not Voting - 4. Senator Obama voted
against.
