Now we got another CYAWP exercise. More experts - mostly failed politicians - have done the Iraq Study Committee Report.

If one is not willing to lead, pass the ball to a committee or a consultant. Then, if stuff goes bad, the fellow to blame cannot be found. What happened to "the buck stops here."

She Who Must be Obeyed said that this posting on September 10, 2006, was mandatory. Since she allowed the TV and recorder in her sewing room to be used to record the first evening of The Path to 911, how can one refuse? Like all good Hoosiers, our main set was tuned to the Manning vs Manning football game. She allowed me contoll of the clicker, however, so I got to see the first 15 minutes since the game started at 2015 hours for you military folks; 8:15 PM for you civilians; and for you Dimocrats Mickey's little hand is on... We hope the disclaimer that appeared before the program began and several times throughout the showing was the whole of ABC's cave-in to the Clintonistas. It has always been my position that my wife's sense of humor was shot off in the war. The disclaimer made clear that the presentation was a dramatization rather than a documentary. With neither a smile nor smirk, she said, "well, I guess it depends on what the definition of 'is' is. Perhaps during the 45 years since we married, I have not listened closely enough - Nah.

ABC spends 40 mil to produce the docudrama, "Path to 911." The Clintonistas learn that it takes the plot from the 911 Commission Report. They know probably less than 10% of the American public have read the report. But, a television special using the Commission Report as its basis would reach many more people. The campaign to squash the Special began and ABC reportedly is about to cave. Senate Dims have reportedly sent a threatening letter to ABC making reference to the 1934 law that authorizes their broadcast license. There is a First Amendment protection against something called, prior restraint." The way it is supposed to work is that free speech operates, then if the speaker violates the laws of libel or others, there is redress available under our laws. Of course as Orwell said, "some pigs are more equal than other pigs." Apparantly, Senators may attempt prior restraint, in writing, and that is ok. There seems to be a pattern here Get Limbaugh. Reportedly, the Special treats the history of Islamic terrorism over several administrations See History [Use back arrow to rejoin here]

Let ABC know that you want to see the Special, Path to 911, as it was done by the producers. You, not any politician, should be able to make a decision as to what you should or should not see. Contact ABC .

We should not forget that Disney owns ABC.

What a deal!!! As we approach the fall elections a co-chairman of this worthless committee is all over the news channels complaining because his recommendations were not done as he wanted and badmouthing the DOD folks. Cut me some slack.

The old media, lefties and "moderates" are whimpering because Representative Sensenbrenner is insisting one of the most effective and, probably, least expensive of the recommendations be included in the law effecting the recommendations of the committee. Increasing the size of government in any area is always supported by the nay sayers but denying drivers' license to illegal aliens is somehow a deal breaker.http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/11/28/150304.shtml

If you did the above link, you noticed the number of State drivers' license that had been issued to the 911 terrorists. It boggles the very to understand why anyone would object to this recommendation. If one were tended toward the cynical, one might consider that a drivers' license greatly enhances the ability to register to vote and some politicians are loath to disenfranchise that portion of their constituency. Consider the following.

A few weeks ago, I had occasion to have a document notarized. As identification I presented a Department of Defense Form 2, United States Uniformed Services identification card. Bio-metrics you say? You bet your mess kit. The card includes military personnel records and (gasp) some medical record information. The notary required my state drivers' license before she could perform her office. That was not unexpected but a couple weeks later, I really got a shock.

I had to visit a very sensitive military installation in the State. At the gate, the civilian guard told me I would have to park and go in the office to obtain a visitor's pass. When I asked why the current DoD vehicle registration sticker on my windshield wouldn't do the trick, he replied, "we allow access to people not vehicles." I was impressed - real security somewhere. As a good airman, I hied my old airframe into the office. After requiring the reason for my visit, the young lady asked me for some identification. I gave her that good old DD Form 2. My estimation of their security dropped several frets when she said, "no I'll need your drivers' license."

Does it give anyone else pause to observe that the same ACLU that can find "separation of church and state" in the Amendment that reads, "Congress shall make no law..." is adamantly opposed to Congress exercising Article IV, Section 1, of the Constitution and regulating how a state drivers license may be proved in order that it receive full faith and credit? Scroll up and check on the left if you want to let Rep Sensenbrenner know you want him to keep up the good fight.

I have read the 911 Commission Report. On page 390, we find a recommendation:

Recommendation: Secure identification should begin in the United States. The Federal Government should set standards for birth certificates and sources of identification, such as drivers [sic] licenses.

The drivers' license has become the de facto national identification card and it is as reliable as the various Departments of Motor Vehicles. Must I reiterate the failings of just my State? We have indictments pending and folks in jail.

If the House gives up the requirement that drivers' license be issued only to citizens, then any bill to protect the Homeland is worthless!

There seems to be a move to have hearings in the Senate as to why Able Danger was not mentioned in the report. In hindsight, it seems I wasted my time reading a CYAWP exercise.

Oops! We heard about it - we didn't hear about it. The Staff may have heard about it - or maybe not. The sources are wacko's. Oops! a Navy Captain (colonel - O-6 - for we other services). Shall we ever learn the truth? Only if we demand it. http://www.foxnews.com
