September 28, 2007
A couple days ago, Limbaugh and a caller referred to a fellow named Jesse
Macbeth as a phony soldier. Macbeth had made a video in which he claimed
to have been a ranger in Iraq and accused his fellow soldiers of war crimes.
Moveon.puke and the media jumped on the wagon and touted the accusations
all over print and air. The lie was spread all over the Near East web sites.
Subsequently, it was learned that Macbeth was never a ranger, had never
been in Iraq and served only 44 days in the military before he was released.
He was prosecuted under a US Code, enacted in both houses of Congress,
and convicted. Now Limbaugh has been denounced in the congress and the
media for calling military personnel who do not agree with our military
presence in Iraq as phony soldiers. Neither he nor his caller did that.
Rumor has it that the Democrats who cannot do the job of the people, being
obsessed with attacks, will bring a resolution to condemn Limbaugh.
My [Old Sarge] take is that Macbeth was a disgruntled wannabe who may have
been separated from the military for non-adaptability reasons and was embraced
by the Dems because he criticized the military, which they secretly, or
not so secretly, hate. Of course, Macbeth is in good company when he bad-mouths
his fellow military people:

Jesse Macbeth, wan-
nabe, 2007. Convicted
and incarcerated.

John Kerry, 1971, still
at large.

Senator Tom Harkin,
D-Iowa. Claimed Viet-
Nam fighter pilot
service. Still at large
